Improved natural lighting and outward visibility
Aside from obvious benefits, windows add a unique style and character to any door. They can dramatically improve the interior work environment by providing natural light. Correctly placed windows also provide the user an opportunity to look outside prior to opening the door.
Standard windows are 36” x 24” dual pane PVC with a J-trim brick mold and nail fin extension. The nail fin allows for easy installation to the door frame. The white PVC J-trim works with up to a ¾” deep cladding profile and saves time onsite from having to install additional trims around the window.
If cladding to be used on the door is deeper than ¾”, or if a colored trim is preferred, please specify at time of ordering to have windows shipped with no J-trim.
Windows can be framed into virtually any location on the door. Typical installations are at eye level, while some prefer them closer to the top of the door for security reasons.
Unless specifically requested, windows will be framed in at eye level (or as near as possible) and equally spaced along the door width.
Windows can also be custom ordered to any size with a variety of glass, glazing, and exterior casing options. Windows can be custom sized up to the full panel size of the door. This commonly provides sizes upwards of 60” x 36”.
To prevent damage during door installation, windows are shipped together with, but not installed into the door frame.
